Yarker Trail Races in August

The annual 10Km Trail race will be held on Saturday 20th August, 2011. This is a beautiful course through forests and fields. It is mostly flat and good for all runners, beginners and experienced. It is also designed as an afternoon and evening for the whole family. As well as a pot-luck dinner there will be live bands playing and plenty for everyone to do, including swimming.
There is a 5 km run/walk and a 1 km run/walk in the same afternoon.

Questions & Answers:
Where is the race located?
On farm property just south of Yarker (10 minutes off the 401 at County Road 6). The run is entirely in fields, forests and cropland. The 10K is just one loop of the course. Runners may see deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife.
Are there other activities?
Yes, there is a pot-luck dinner planned and live bands playing at the end of the runs into the evening. There is swimming available and games for children.
Are there other runs?
Yes, there is a 10K, 5K and a 1K run. All runs will be open to walkers as well.
Are there prizes and awards?
Yes. There will be prizes and also ribbons and medals for race finishers.
Is this for charity?
Yes, proceeds from the runs will go to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
